Jealous?

A very yummy lunch at a shabu shabu house. Sadly they didn't have shabu shabu for lunch, but we enjoyed a very hardy meal.

Simplicity At Best

Sass at best
It's been a year and then some months since my grandfather past away. Regardless of the excruciating  heat, we paid our respect.

I am wearing a volcom jean skirt and a black american eagle crew neck t-shirt. I threw this outfit on before I left, and didn't expect my grandma to like it so much. I guess she likes how simple it was; it's rare for her to find my outfit pleasurable to the eye.

Life's Better When You're Japanese

Dinner at 一茶一坐 with Tanya and Amanda! Reunited in Tokyo once again, we enjoyed eating a delicious Chinese meal, taking purikura and singing at a karaoke booth in Shibuya.

I am wearing this top that I just bought at Forever 21. Its' loosey goosey casual fit is very comfy, and not completely unflattering if I may say so myself. Usually you can't find a combination of the two. Lately I have been OBSESSED with this black and white tribal print. I can't seem to get enough of it! You will probably see more of this top later...

Harajuku Girls, They Got The Wicked Style

 My first time at Topshop!

I love this electric pink translucent Forever 21 bag! It's a nice change from the bland yellow.

Fish Eyes

I think its been about six years since the last time I had a film camera. They seem to be making a small come back but with much struggle. I am sure this fad will die out in a few more years, but until then I need to start the hunt for places that will develop my film.

After a couple years of debate, I finally bought this lomography fisheye camera. The camera looks simple enough, but it is taking a great amount of patience to figure out for people like me who hate manuals. First I couldn't figure out why the flash wouldn't go off (no batterie, duh!) and I still can't figure out when it takes a picture. It's taking some time to getting used to not being able to see the pictures I took and deleting the ones I don't want. I forgot what this excitement for surprise felt like and the anticipation is killing me! I plan on going to a camera store soon and have them explain to me the functions of the camera (I have high expectations for its abilities), buy more film and the "submarine" waterproof case. What's a camera to a Hawaii native if it can't rough it in the waters?

Day 3: Sleep, Shop, Snack

The shatter looks a little greener (like coral) in person
I felt like I could sleep all day. Ever since I got to Tokyo I have been going out nonstop; It caught up to me. Last night I slept for seven hours and woke up at five because of jet lag. I want back to sleep from 10-12, a complete waste of city daylight. I ended up leaving the house around 3:30 to do some shopping at Lumine, my favorite department in Tokyo. I found a lot of cute things, but left empty handed and sad. I did, however, find perfect items to feature on my blog. I'm quite impressed with myself (if I might add).

OPI fever! I did them myself!
Ski Teal We Drop underneath Turquoise Shatter. Reminds me of the waters of Tahiti
$250 shoes...I really really want. Don't you love the heel?
I think I have to go back for these.

I always treat myself to a Kitson bag: I started this tradition a few years back. However, this year there was absolutely nothing I wanted. Doctor, what's wrong with me?

Nothing cures a shopping depression like snacking at a Japanese convenience store, they have absolutely everything you could imagine in such little space!

So cute but they didn't look good on my fingers :() Megane means glasses.
Here in Japan too. Can't wait for the Paris store!
                                  Giant shoe mirror
I was looking at the belt ring
but the kitty ring is so endearing

Shibuya Shopping!

Theres nothing like shopping in Tokyo with MATCHING JAPAN WOMANS SOCCER JERSEYS! I was lured into buying it by Tanya. Come to think of it, I don't even watch soccer...but I support them all the way so I can still wear the shirt right? The shirt isn't a terrible fit, and it's starting to grow on me.

I was pooped, dont look at my face!

Go Japan! 100% support

We enjoyed hitting up 109, a famous shopping department, snacking at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and wandering the streets aimlessly. There's nothing like chatting with Tanya and agreeing to disagree.
Cool shopping store, their stairs are neon and very modern chic looking!

Ps. My camera has been acting poorly by taking blurry pictures. I will get another one hopefully soon, so please bear with me!

Guess where I am?

If you guessed London, sadly you are wrong. I am on the streets of Tokyo, on my way  to see the final showing of the three musketeers directed by a family friend at Nisei Theater. If it weren't for my jet lag, I would've gone backstage to meet the cast! That and the fact that Princess Aiko, her father, Prince Tougu, and their 30 SP's were occupying my friends attention. Bummer!

I noticed that the number of telephone booths have dwindled over the past decade. That or the fact that I never use them so they don't draw my attention...Anyways, this cute booth was peculiar, and there's nothing I'm more attracted to then the odd and undiscovered. I am wearing a fuschia dress from urban outfitters. I bought this online and crossed my fingers in hopes that it would be the right size, which it was! This silence and noise dress has been wonderful to me; I can where it anywhere without feeling inappropriately dressed.Accompanying it is my "big brown bag". It fits everything and the color matches 90% of my outfits - it's a traveling bag must! My mothers' friends' husband is the designer of this bag. Most of my bags are designed by him, brand name is Sa-Che.

Day 1: Odaiba

Finally! I made it out to Tokyo :) Nothing warms my heart the second best than seeing fancy CLEAN public bathrooms and convenience stores on every block. I started off the day by going to the Odaiba Gasyukoku (お台場合衆国). I must say Japans heat surprised me again. It was so hot, that just walking around for ten minutes I was sweat more than I ever have in a sauna or running. I was dripping sweat, and complaining about the heat every ten minutes. I've gone to Japan at least once a year since I was a baby, so I am heavily influenced by its culture. I probably know 90% of TV shows on air, and watch about 40% of them. This fair like event, is hosted by a single TV station. They have many booths that are themed by the TV show, and tons of creative/odd food!

This "mecha" portion of the carnival is by far my favorite. One of my best loved TV shows is "mecha mecha iketeru", it always manages to make me roll around laughing. This year, they did a Hawaiian resort theme, which I knew all too well. I was super close to asking if I could be in the front of the line with a Hawaii Drivers license.

My big floppy hat might get the best friend title. It is always there for me protecting me from the suns harmful rays! Without it, I couldn't imagine how hot it would be. My turquoise top is from Vans and regretfully, I didn't wear it to optimize its smashing shape. The top is actually really cute; it is cut off in the back a couple inches above the tailbone, and in the front it is longer and folded over (kind of hard to explain.) Going vertically down at diagonals, are tiny little holes which make for an adorable design. I love the color, probably because it reminds me of the ocean at home. Perhaps I will re-wear this later and show you its full potential.

The view from the hotel...perfect no?

Sweet Dreams

Getting to Tokyo was EXHAUSTING! I got out of the airport and went straight to the Grand Pacific Hotel and the only room they had was on the Presidential floor! I lucked out because the room was beautiful, as was its accompanying view. I felt fancy and posh, and never wanted to leave the room.

I made myself a hardy breakfast to energize me for the days fun at the Odaiba Gasyukoku. Yum!

Buh Bye Hawai'i

With mixed feelings, I left for Haneda airport. I've never been to this brand new international airport and the fact that I am going alone put me on some edge, but it was good nervousness! I adventured through the Honolulu airport a bit before settling at my gate. The flight felt long, but movies The Butterfly Effect, Tangled and Just Go With It put me at ease.

This is a picture of my airplane that I boarded, along with one of my favorite pictures of sunset. Nothing warms my heart more than a picture taken from my lanai of the Hawaiian sun setting. Accompanying these pictures is a photo I fished out of me from two years ago. It was my birthday so I took some pictures on the lanai with my best friends and changed into this cute girly outfit. The skirt is from H&M, the tank top is from Theory and the belt is from a boutique in Karuizawa, Japan. Lastly is a picture of my nails that I am very proud of. With inspiration of summer and prolonged beach days, I did my nails to match the sea. The sandy gold sand compliments the sparkly, clear ocean. The work is sloppy, but its as nice as my patience and artistic skills allowed.

Baby You're A Firework

Fourth of July, Americas favorite holiday! We had a blast at the top floor parking garage of Ala Moana mall watching the fireworks. The sky was clear, which we were thankful for. There was, however, a slight drizzle of rain but not to worry, I came prepared with a rain coat. We spent all day at the beach which is why we are so tan and sun burnt!

I loveee this red dress, but I can never figure out where to wear it to! It has an adorable backdrop that's knitted together. I got it from Mahina in Waikiki :)

Marry Me?

Allstar Weekend concert!! Woo hoo :))
                                                                                                               From the concert

I went to this concert only knowing two songs. Although I liked the two songs, I wasn't a groupie. Just a teen looking for some summer fun. I never could've imagined how head over heels me and my friend would become. They were magical and incredibly charismatic! I've never met such a down to earth band. After hugging them at the meet and greet, I found the man I want to marry....or men.
Mr. Wonderful - they are so cute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0wC438ZrUE

I am wearing a shiny blue American Apparel tube dress. It's tight around my upper body, so I don't lose my shape in the dress, but flares like a skirt. I love this simple, but flirty dress. It sets my mood to party hearty, but relaxed and flirty.

I found this tree on the way back from the North shore.
I commend whoever put this beach trash together to make this beautiful
Hawaiian like Christmas tree. Can you say photo op?
