Roger Martin Du Gard

Our last couple days in the countryside:

We also visited Roger Martin Du Gard, the infamous au reminisce author of Les Thibault. Pauline's friend is friends with the granddaughter of RMDG, and she gave us a special tour of his home. My grandmother had the time of her life, and I am sure this will be an experience I can when I become intellectual.

His back yard = forest

The granddaughter told us that he designed this himself, so that he would be able to see the city in the distance between his trees. However, about 12 years ago, a great storm hit, and many of the trees were destroyed which is why many of them are so tiny.

Panorama effect, not too shabby eh?

Front of the house

They would very much like to turn this house into a museum, but they don't have the means. Such a disappointment.

pizza night!

Pizza night with daddy. Drank red wine and got a little woozy. I'll stick to my asian tea for a couple more years, thanks.

We bought pillsbury dough, some shredded mozzarella, and tomato sauce at the store. I always forget to cook the dough before I put the toppings on, so it was a little soggy but we've gotten used to it - so much, that it has become our new standard. Nevertheless, it turned out well, and we ended up finishing most of it.

Bollywood Night

My friend Paulina invited me to her family friends' house to have some indian food (that we both LOVE) and a bollywood movie. I must say, I love naan bread and the Mango and strawberry Lassi did not disappoint.

Some chicken curry and other authentic yummy food

We each put a bindi (I believe that is what they are called) on our foreheads. Having three means that you are married.

I watched my first ever bollywood movie this night and I regret not writing the title down. It was so much fun, and I had no idea that I would like it so much. The beautiful women and dramatic music made us addicted, and we plan on seeing a bollywood movie this weekend.

Roy's Holiday Dinner

To celebrate the holidays, me and my closest friends shared an evening of secret santa and delicious meals. We first ate at Roys restaurant in Hawaii Kai, the original. I had a very good marinated steak dish that I can't remember the name of. All I know is that it melted in my mouth, and it was all gone before I knew it! And for everyone who knows Roys, we all know that their chocolate souflée should be one of our regret-less seven sins.

Eiffle Tower Pt. 2

After some begging and puppy pouting, my aunt and I went into town to see the Eiffle tower at 8 so I could take pictures in the daylight, and also see the flashing tower at 10 (sun sets around 9-9:30). The Eiffle tower looks the same as always, but it is still aweing. I am glad we made an effort to train it from the airport (we stayed at the sheraton near the airport) to see it on the very last day. Could you imagine going to Paris on not seeing the Eiffle Tower? It was a last minute adventure, and we were worried we wouldn't make the train in time, but we got back safely. Thank goodness the station was right below the hotel!

That night, I had the best dinner out of the entire trip. We watched the sunset behind the Eiffle tower as we ate dinner; such a delicacy. My aunt ordered a roasted chicken dish that was very tasty. I had been longing for lamb chops (my favorite Parisenne dinner) the whole time and I finally got it! I had been disappointed earlier in the trip by ordering lamb and instead, it was BOILED. The haricot verts and frites were also delicious sides. Who could ask for anything more?

Cena In Italia

Nothing beats an Italian dinner IN Italy. Although the food service is slow in this area, we knew that was to be expected. In this city, good food equals a long wait. I ordered some grilled vegetables and a standard tomato basil pasta. Both were perfect to the taste, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

I like how casual and cute this restaurant is.

Life's Better When You're Japanese

Dinner at 一茶一坐 with Tanya and Amanda! Reunited in Tokyo once again, we enjoyed eating a delicious Chinese meal, taking purikura and singing at a karaoke booth in Shibuya.

I am wearing this top that I just bought at Forever 21. Its' loosey goosey casual fit is very comfy, and not completely unflattering if I may say so myself. Usually you can't find a combination of the two. Lately I have been OBSESSED with this black and white tribal print. I can't seem to get enough of it! You will probably see more of this top later...
