must haves.

These three items were a must have on my trip this past summer. A handheld fan, a book page holder , and a tripod with bendy legs. You could imagine why...

so your fingers dont get tired, genius!

Sheraton Paris

The Sheraton Airport Hotel in Paris, France. It was a lot nicer than I had expected. Just a few pictures I took inside...

Hallway. The middle is glass and you can see the train station under it!

Hallway split into two. Inconvenient but cool architecture.

Up, Up, Up In The Air

I love taking pictures at the airport - I always find strange things to photograph! This is when I left Paris for Florence (I should've posted this BEFORE all of my Florence pictures). I was surprised at how small and low key the airport was. Honestly I didn't feel very safe, but whatever goes!

the wall looking out from the gate had a red tint

City jet - apparently another word for an airplane...

In Case You Are More Confused Than My Parents...

I am finally back in Honolulu, here to stay for at least a few months. I have tons of pictures and posts that didn't make it in time, but I will continue posting them! Thanks for all the love, I never thought I would've reached 700 by the end of the summer!

This summer has seriously been nonstop traveling. I love traveling and seeing new places along with continuing the traditions I have at places I've been before.
However, I don't like being stuck on an airplane for hours on end (slightly claustrophobic), not being able to sleep on time due to jet lag and packing/unpacking. I really HATE packing - It's too difficult.

An overview of my trip:

Honolulu - Tokyo (Haneda) [By myself]
        Tokyo - Nagoya *bullet train
        Nagoya - Hamamatsu *bullet train
        Hamamatsu - Tokyo *bullet train
Tokyo (Haneda) - Paris [With grandma and aunt]
        Paris - Lourdes * TGV
        Lourdes - Paris *TGV
Paris - Florence [With grandma and aunt]
Florence - Paris [With grandma and aunt]
Paris - Tokyo (Haneda)  [With grandma and aunt]
        Tokyo - Karuizawa *bullet train
Karuizawa - Tokyo *bullet train [With grandma and aunt]
Tokyo (Narita) - Honolulu [By myself]

 Awesome mileage...!

I highly doubt my own parents knew where I was exactly this whole summer, and I barely had a clue where I was! Nonetheless, I had a blast and unforgettable summer. 9 more months and counting the days until summer 2012, where to next?

Gerard Depardieu

When we got on the plane in Florence, my aunt and grandma quickly suspected that the man that just got on the plane was Gerard Depardieu. Although skeptical, they kept to themselves. When we reached baggage in Paris, a lady helping us with baggage confirmed the facts. She told us that he often travels and he isn't a rare sight. I had no idea who he was, but my aunt kept emphasizing how big of a deal he was. She told me that I should go ask him for a picture but at first I was too shy. After five minutes of mental back and forth, telling myself now or never, I stirred up the courage to ask him for a photograph. He was reluctant, and said yes but to make it quick. My aunt snapped a photo of the two of us and we parted. He did keep it real when he picked up his own baggage, props to him.

Depardieu is a french actor and film maker.  He had the lead role of Cyrano de Bergerac when he won a nomination for an Academy Award. Amongst many other nominations and American awards, he has won the césar award for best actor also. Read more about him on wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%A9rard_Depardieu

Haneda Airport, Once Again

Back at Haneda International Airport, getting ready to leave on my flight to Paris!

Cute chub chubs on an airplane.

The view from the airplane. Looking with a naked eye it looked more like a rainbow...there are some frostys on the window.

Airplane outfit. It was a total fail because my rings kept getting caught in the knitted top. I am usually good about picking airplane outfits....didn't think this one through enough. The lounges at Haneda have TV's which you can control, so I enjoyed watching some good Japanese TV before leaving for my 13 hour flight.

Buh Bye Hawai'i

With mixed feelings, I left for Haneda airport. I've never been to this brand new international airport and the fact that I am going alone put me on some edge, but it was good nervousness! I adventured through the Honolulu airport a bit before settling at my gate. The flight felt long, but movies The Butterfly Effect, Tangled and Just Go With It put me at ease.

This is a picture of my airplane that I boarded, along with one of my favorite pictures of sunset. Nothing warms my heart more than a picture taken from my lanai of the Hawaiian sun setting. Accompanying these pictures is a photo I fished out of me from two years ago. It was my birthday so I took some pictures on the lanai with my best friends and changed into this cute girly outfit. The skirt is from H&M, the tank top is from Theory and the belt is from a boutique in Karuizawa, Japan. Lastly is a picture of my nails that I am very proud of. With inspiration of summer and prolonged beach days, I did my nails to match the sea. The sandy gold sand compliments the sparkly, clear ocean. The work is sloppy, but its as nice as my patience and artistic skills allowed.
